Indications:
Sure Ortho Porcelain is to
be used any time resin bonding to porcelain is required. It is used
in : Preparation of porcelain crowns, veneers, and inlays, prior to
cementation. Preparation of fractured porcelain or porcelain fused
to metal crowns for bonding.
Properties:
Sure Ortho Porcelain is a
complete kit for preparing porcelain veneers, inlays and fractured
porcelain teeth for bonding. It consists of Porcelain Etch and
Porcelain Silane. Porcelain Etch is a specially buffered, viscous,
hydrofluoric acid that will etch porcelains of all type to produce a
microscopic porous surface which will provide a strong mechanical
interlock with composite resin materials. Porcelain Silane is a
single component silane that enhances bonding values and durability
when applied to etched porcelain.
Instructions for use:
1) In case of intraoral
procedure, isolate the area to be etched with a rubber dam.
2) When preparing
fractured porcelain crowns for bonding, abrade the surface of the
porcelain to be etched with a medium grit bur to remove the glazed
surface and to make space for a sufficient layer of composite resin,
for strength and aesthetics. Rinse all debris from the porcelain
surface with copious amounts of water and dry with moisture and oil
free compressed air.
3) Apply Porcelain Etch to
the porcelain surface with a small brush or instrument. Leave
undisturbed for 60 seconds.
4) Rinse the porcelain
thoroughly with water to completely remove the etchant and dry well.
The etched porcelain should have the frosted white appearance. If
not, repeat the etching procedure.
5) Brush Porcelain Silane
on etched porcelain surface and dry well with a stream of moisture
and oil free compressed air.
CAUTION !
Porcelain Etch must be
used carefully and cautiously. Avoid contact with oral soft tissues,
skin and eyes. If accidental contact occurs, flush with copious
amounts of water and seek medical attention immediately. In case of
intraoral procedure, we strongly recommend to isolate the area to be
etched with a rubber dam.
